WOW İstanbul Advisory Board member and We Will Stop Femicide Platform lawyer İpek Bozkurt and Okan University lecturer, lawyer Selin Nakıpoğlu were the guests of the sixth programme, which was broadcasted on Açık Radio (94.9) on Monday, July 20 at 14.00.

Bozkurt and Nakıpoğlu talked about the search for justice for women during the pandemic period. Starting with 6284 Save Lives campaign during quarantine, they discussed the debates over the Istanbul Agreement and the activism and struggle they have been pursuing under article TCK103.

İpek Bozkurt - Advocacy Coordinator of We Will Stop Femicides Platform

İpek Bozkurt is a feminist lawyer practicing in Turkey with a focus on violence against women and femicide cases. Following her degree in law, she has completed her MSc degree in European Studies at the London School of Economics and Political Science in 2003. She has worked at a local law firm in Istanbul for nearly ten years till 2014 when she established her own practice concentrating on criminal and family law. İpek is the Advocacy Coordinator of We Will Stop Femicides Platform, a feminist non-governmental organization founded to protect women’s “right to life” and to prevent gender-based women homicides in Turkey. Selin Nakıpoğlu - Lecturer at Okan University

Selin Nakıpoğlu is a lawyer at the Istanbul Bar Association and a lecturer at Okan University. She is a voluntary lawyer of the Purple Roof Women's Shelter Foundation and a member of the Legal Support for Women Centre Association. She acted as the lawyer of Hürriyet Helpline between 2013 and 2016. She follows cases of women and children rights, lectures in trainings and panels, and she is fluent in English and intermediate in German.
