II. English Language Teachers’ Conference: Innovation and Technology in English Language Education
The British Council in Türkiye, the Directorate General for Innovation and Educational Technologies (YEĞİTEK) of the Ministry of National Education, and the Sabancı Foundation are pleased to host the II. English Language Teachers’ Conference: Innovation and Technology in English Language Education. The event will take place on 23 and 24 September 2026 in Bursa.
Following the first conference in Adana in 2025, the second conference brings together English language teachers and education professionals from across Türkiye for two days of learning, sharing and collaboration.
About the conference
The conference explores how innovation, educational technology and artificial intelligence (AI) are shaping English language education and classroom practice.
Participants will hear from international and Türkiye-based speakers and have the opportunity to explore practical examples and approaches shared by teachers from across Türkiye. The programme includes plenary sessions, best practice teacher sessions and thematic workshops, covering topics including AI-supported learning, digital tools, assessment, creativity, inclusion, global citizenship and sustainability.
The conference also provides opportunities for teachers to connect with colleagues, exchange ideas and discover new resources and approaches that can support English language teaching and learning.
An Exhibition Area will feature innovative teaching practices and research, Ministry-level projects and initiatives, British Council teaching resources, and thought leadership and open resources from ELT publishers. Participants will also be able to visit an Innovative Classroom area and experience examples of technology-supported English language teaching.
The two-day programme offers a combination of presentations, practical sessions and opportunities for discussion and networking.
