Exploring creativity through cross-border collaboration

Over the past three years, the British Council’s Creative Collaborations Grant Programme supported artistic partnerships between the UK and Türkiye, fostering new connections, shared learning, and co-created works across disciplines and geographies.

Launched in 2022, the programme aimed to spark dialogue, experimentation, and mutual understanding through joint projects in the arts and creative sectors. Each year, it responded to evolving themes and challenges—from sustainability and accessibility to digital innovation—while always placing collaboration at its core.

Throughout its three-year run, the programme brought together 34 organisations from Türkiye and 27 creative partners from the UK, along with over 30 artists. A total of 37 collaborative projects were carried out in 20 cities, reaching more than 65,000 people through exhibitions, performances, workshops, and digital experiences, and achieving 3.5 million digital views.

Creative Collaborations not only expanded artistic production and built new audiences—it also encouraged mutual learning, community engagement, and long-lasting relationships between the cultural sectors of both countries.
