IATEFL ESP SIG Webinar
The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) can be a helpful tool for reflecting and communicating about language courses, materials and assessments. It gives us a common language that we can use to describe what we do. Languages for Specific Purposes takes as its starting point the ways in which learners will need to use a language in some defined target context (usually related to employment or study). This webinar shows how a global framework such as the CEFR can be used to capture the key features of contexts for language use. It can help us to analyse learner needs and so to define and communicate what characterises language use for specific purposes.
The webinar is intended for anyone with an interest in ESP, but will be of particular interest to those who are involved in developing assessments.
