This free online course will take us through life and works of William Shakespeare, from his birthplace in Stratford-upon-Avon to the Globe Theatre in London. Join the course between 27 February and 10 April 2017.

We will look at five of Shakespeare’s plays with the help of actors and experts from around the world. They will explain and explore the universal themes Shakespeare addressed in his work. The plays are: 

  • Romeo and Juliet 
  • Hamlet
  • Much Ado About Nothing
  • The Tempest and
  • Macbeth. 

Our video tutor will guide you through the course and look at some of the words and expressions that Shakespeare introduced to the English language. You can check your understanding through short quizzes and you will be asked to share your ideas and opinions on the topics Shakespeare raises.

Exploring English: Shakespeare course is extremely flexible and will only take up to two hours of your time per week, so you can practice at any time that suits you. You can sign up from now until the very last day of the course.
