After 6 months of national broadcasting of the The Selector radio show, we decided to come out of Radio Mydonose studios and visit our listeners on field with "The Selector Chill Out Zone Tour". The tour started off in Istanbul on the 10th of May and then moved on to Konya, Ankara, Mersin, Antalya and finished off in İzmir on the 6th of June.

First, Radio Mydonose’s big lorry was redecorated with sound and lighting systems to give an utmost chill out experience to our guests. Then, the largest balloon tent ever produced in Turkey with 170 sqm² of space was decorated with live, colourful and relaxing surroundings.

ACTIVITIES DURING THE TOUR

The Selector Chill out Zone Tour at one side reflected the diversity of the UK through music as well as aiming to raise environment awareness amongst our listeners through the British Council’s North-south-east-west environment exhibition, our guests participated in the "have your say" video message competition where they shared their messages about global warming and the environment. The winner of the competition will be going to the UK to join the Selector-live party as our guest and will have a chance to see environment exhibitions and take part in the environment activities. While chilling out in the zone, music lovers gave us feedback and shared their perceptions about The Selector show, British Council and Radio Mydonose services in general. In return we gave our guests a series of appealing promotional goods from Selector CD’s, Radio Mydonose mugs and to those who were lucky Selector mp3 players.

We made an IPOD draw between our guests who have completed our Selector survey. Winners were be announced in The Selector Radio Show on 15 October 2007 at 22:00 hrs and also were published on our web site on 19 October 2007.
