CLIMATE ADVOCATES MOVE AHEAD WITH AWARENESS PROJECTS

Turkey’s Climate Advocates are moving ahead at full throttle with the launch of three distinctive projects: a Climate Education Module, a website to bring companies and customers together on environmental consciousness, and a photo competition that aims to capture the perfect image linking Climate Change and Turkey.

YOUNG LEADERS TO ‘NAVIGATE’ BETWEEN CULTURES

The British Council has launched a new project aimed at developing an international network of young people to act as ‘Intercultural Navigators’. Launched following a recent study among young people that indicated growing concerns related to intercultural issues, the project will inspire young people from many different cultures to come together for discussion, says Governance and Society Projects Coordinator Ozan Dinçer


CLIMATE ADVOCATES GATHER TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Turkey kicks off its involvement in the British Council’s ‘Challenge Europe’ Climate Change programme with a meeting in Ankara. The meeting brings together 14 Climate Advocates who will formulate projects that will hopefully make a difference in the Climate Change debate. Raising awareness becomes a top priority as the group prepares to launch the fruit of their collaborative efforts in September.

JOURNALIST OBSERVES TRANSITION TO OPTIMISM IN TURKEY-EU RELATIONS

Fulya Özerkan, diplomatic correspondent from English-language newspaper Hürriyet Daily News joined a group of university students in Antalya as they discussed Turkey’s bid for EU accession. The meeting took place prior to the British Council’s high-level Bosphorus Conference, being held for the fifth time this year.

The Little Teachers enjoyed presentations from this year’s FameLab finalists, showing great enthusiasm by asking questions and passing comment.
