The EU and Me project, part of the British Council’s intercultural youth programmes, aims to create a platform for young people from ten countries to engage in discussions of issues of identity and culture. It will explore the extent to which young people`s sense of identity is influenced by history, religion, culture, ethnicity, gender, age and `being European`. The views and perceptions of young people in each participating country will be recorded on video and later edited to be shared by other participating countries.

The British Council, in co-operation with a youth NGO, the Youth Development Association (Genç Gelişim Derneği), will be running two workshops in Istanbul and Ankara, for two consecutive days in each city. We are recruiting young people between 17 and 22 to participate in these workshops. Turkish-speaking participants, living in İstanbul, interested in issues of cultural diversity, are welcome to apply to be part of this event.
