The BBC World Service and British Council International Radio Playwriting Competition 2005 has been launched. The winner will win a trip to London to participate in producing their play for broadcast on BBC World Service. The competition is open to anyone resident outside the UK, whether English is their first or second language. The 4th edition of the British Short Film Days will take place between 17 February – 4 April 2005 and will travel to 8 cities in Turkey. Beside film packages on music and animation from the best young film-makers in the UK , this year there will also be a section dedicated to young film-makers from Turkey and various European countries. The event will include screenings, workshops and talks with film-makers. A selection of these films will also be shown in the Istanbul Short Film Days, between 6 – 13 April 2005.

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS TO VISUAL ARTISTS FROM TURKEY
VISITING ARTS ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL FELLOWSHIP 2005, DELFINA STUDIOS,
LONDON
As part of Visiting Arts’ ongoing commitment to residency
opportunities for artists based outside the UK, Visiting Arts is announcing the
Annual International Fellowship at Delfina Studios in London, United
Kingdom. This Fellowship, in collaboration with British Council
Turkey, is being offered to visual artists who are living and working
in Turkey. The Fellowship creates an opportunity for an outstanding
Turkish artist to be based in London for nine months to grow their artistic
practice by developing new work, interacting with local artists and extending
professional contacts.
The 2005 Fellowship will take place from October 2005 – June
2006.
Applications must come through a
recommendation from a recognised institution, curator, critic or gallery in the
country. Artists should have a minimum of 5 years experience as a
practising artist and some international experience.
Deadline for applications to be received by Visiting Arts: 26 May
2005
Decisions will be announced by: 10 June
2005
