Each poster features has a personal photograph and an explanation of why that person likes their word so much. Read about these people and why they are famous. Professor Colin Gilligan Will give speech on “The Erosion of Competitive Advantage: Welcome to the Experience Economy!”

With markets becoming ever more competitive and customers far more demanding and discriminating, much of the traditional thinking about competitive advantage is no longer of any real value.  Within this session, Colin Gilligan will discuss some of the changes affecting markets and show how the customer experience is for many organisations the new differentiator. In doing this, he will make use of some of the findings that emerge from his consultancy work and discuss ideas that appear in a forthcoming book.

The British Council will be running two workshops in Istanbul and Ankara on consecutive days. We are recruiting young people between 17 and 22 to participate in these workshops. Turkish-speaking participants, living in İstanbul and interested in issues of cultural diversity, are welcome to apply to be part of this event.
The dates for the Ankara workshop are 21-22 January 2006 and the deadline for applications is Monday 16 January. No participation fee is required and participants will have to agree to be filmed throughout the event.

ZeroCarbonCity is a global British Council two year campaign aimed at raising awareness and stimulating debate around climate change and the challenges we face, reinforcing the UK’s commitment to tackling climate change.
 
NorthSouthEastWest (NSEW) Exhibition is part of the British Council ZeroCarbonCity campaign that aims to increase public understanding of global climate change by demonstrating the challenges facing the world resulting from the activities of mankind. Ten of the world`s top photographers from Magnum Photographic Agency were commissioned to capture images from ten diverse countries around the world to illustrate not only the impacts of climate change, but also the solutions which are being implemented to reduce carbon emissions in communities north, south, east and west.
