The BC Alumni team has developed the current alumni website. We hope
that our members will want to contribute to future website development
and we will be inviting you to join the team.
I studied HititoIogy at Ankara University. I have
joined the British Council in 1985. Currently I am working as
External Relation Manager. Being participating for a one-month
course in UK I am also an alumni. I am the founder Secretary
General for the Turco British Fellowship Association which is
a network for Chevening Scholars.
I got a bachelors degree in English Language and
Literature from Bogazici University and a Postgraduate Diploma
in Marketing from London School of International Business Studies.
Before coming to the British Council I was working in the IT
sector. I joined the British Council as an Education UK Marketing
Officer in May 2001. Apart from my role in the Alumni Relations
team, my main repsponsibility areas are the Education UK website
& our on-line services. I'm married and have a 2 year old
persian cat called Mischa. We like scuba diving and going to
Galatasaray matches in our spare time.
I have a degree in Chemistry from NY City Technical
College. I worked in the field of my studies for four years.
After becoming a mother, I enjoyed bringing up my son at home
until his school age. It is now almost 18 years since I started
working for the British Council. Taking positions in four different
departments being Library, Education Counselling Service, Student
Placement to Language Schools in the UK and Scholarships was
like a new
start every couple of years.
After graduating from the University of Sussex
with a Masters in History of Ideas, I began my working career
as a teacher of English in France. I then joined the British
Council some 25 years ago and have since then worked in Morocco,
Senegal and Turkey as well as several postings in London. My
professional interests and qualifications are in Human Resource
Management and general management.
This is my second time in Turkey. I was in Istanbul from
1990 to 1993 and enjoyed being in Turkey so much I asked to
come back. I have now been in Ankara for just over 1 year.
Much of my career has involved working with international
scholarship and educational policy and I am deeply committed
to helping build a strong and active Turkey-UK alumni network
here in Turkey.
